Alik Shpylyuk
Program director of IFF “KROK”, curator of screenings, film reviewer
Alik Shpylyuk was born in 1958 in Rostov-on-Don. He was one of the founders of the cinema club "Dialogue" in Kyiv in late 1980s. Since 1990 to 1999 worked in the directorate of the Kiev IFF "Molodist" (as a Coordinator, Program Director). Since 2000 to 2007 he was Deputy Editor of «Kino Kolo» magazine, line producer of two Swedish documentaries. Since 2007 to 2009 Shpylyuk worked as Deputy Director-General for International Relations of “Multiplex-Holding” – the largest Ukrainian cinema network. Since 2009 he is secretary of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine, Head of the International Committee. Since 1993 works at IFF “Krok” (director of screenings, Program Director). Also he is an Expert of Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine, curator of film programs in Goethe Institute in Kiev, British Council in Ukraine, French Institute in Ukraine. Works as Program Director of the Odessa IFF. Member of selection committees and jury member of many Ukrainian and international film festivals. Independent film critic.
